Week One on Jenny Craig – NOT! – Let’s Dance Instead!

Yin Yang (CC)It is important to not plan too much…

Yet, it is important to plan ahead…

Ah, grasshopper, in life, “balance” is the answer
and leads to wisdom.

(That “grasshopper” reference dates me… LOL)

Week One on Jenny Craig

…ain’t gonna happen THIS week!

Louisiana Country Dance HayrideYes, I know, I know, but my time this week has been spent practicing in the studio, taking lessons in the studio, and performing my “Line Dance Coordinator” duties for the Louisiana Country Dance Hayride.  I’m having a blast and the work isn’t all that difficult, but it is time consuming. Lots of emails flying about as I’ve first set up the schedule then more as I’ve publicized the workshops I’ve set up.

And, the event is this weekend, starting on Friday which means that Friday I’ll be driving for 5-6 hours, starting out at an UNNATURAL hour of the morning,  then spend the rest of the day in non-stop work, uhmmm, fun!  Well work that is fun.  Check out the Workshop Schedule.

Then all day on Saturday will be non-stop activities.  Then Sunday will be half a day of fun activities disguised as work followed by a six hour drive home.  Woo Hoo.

Oh, did I mention the EXCELLENT Cajun food at this event?  I didn’t?  My bad.  😉  Don’t tell Jenny.  It will be our secret.  Jenny doesn’t need to know!

So…  friends, neighbors, and the 12 people that are actually reading this blog entry, starting week one of Jenny Craig just ain’t gonna happen.  Not this week.

Countdown Check-list to start Week One on Jenny Craig:

  1. Clean out the pantry of all “bad” “not allowed on the menu” foods.  That means anything like a half eaten bag of Oreos has to go!

WOO HOO!  I’m so excited to be headed to this event.  My friends have told me so much about it…the good food, the social dancing, the great time they’ve had there.  This will be my first time to attend.  I can’t wait!   A big “Thank you!”to Ray who asked me to be his Line Dance Coordinator.  (And Jenny Craig does not need to know about the Friday Crawfish Boil or the Taste of Louisiana Dinner on Saturday!  It will be our secret–nobody rat me out!  Ok?)

Paradigm Shift — “There is no spoon”

Exclamation Point (CC)I said something remarkable yesterday and it wasn’t until about five minutes later that I realized the import and of what I had said:

When I’ve lost the weight…

Just so there’s no misunderstanding, and because I can never say something in 10 words when a 100 will do, I need to elaborate and explain.  The importance of this phrase lies in that there are no qualifiers.  It is a simple declarative statement that says what will happen.  The path from A to Z is assured and will occur:

When the rain stops…

When winter is over…

When the sun comes up…

When Jupiter appears in the sky close to the full moon…

When Mars appears to move backwards in its orbit…

Or on a more human level… Read the rest of this entry

“As the Boots Turn” Episode #4, Depression, Drugs and Medical Varmits!

Cowboy Cat (CC)[cue the music, cue the opening credits, cue the announcer]

We join the hero of our tale as he continues his quest, seeking answers that may not exist, seeking rest; seeking respite; seeking resolution of that eternal enigma:

“Is the glass half full or half empty?”

Previously on “As the Boots Turn” our hero had lost his job but had, in turn, gained the opportunity to rest and recover from the stresses imposed by that job and the horrid drivers in the badlands of the Dallas/Fort Worth highway system.

It appears that our hero is close to an answer, getting healthier every day and pursuing his dream of dance.

[cue dramatic surge in music, announcer’s voice deepens]

Will he succeed?   Will he find the answers he seeks?  What dangers await him?  What fiends lurk in the shadows?  Only time and a few commercial breaks will tell…

Time to rest… Time to think… Time to plan…
Time to dig myself out of a hole…

For those that are keeping track, yes, we’re still talking about  Number Two (on the list) (That joke never gets old does it?)  Kinda like farts.  Farts have been funny since time began.   Even the word “Fart” sounds funny.   Now where did I put that T.P.? 😉

Medical Symbol (CC)One of the first things that I had to do when I became unemployed was to visit my doctor, my Primary Care Physician.

Why? Pray tell.”  I hear the teeming mass of eight people reading this blog ask…

I’m glad you asked!  🙂
