I friggin did it! I nearly had a heart attack but I did it!!!!

I said I’d do it…Good Job (CC)

From Yesterday’s Blog Post:

“My first exercise is tomorrow morning (or whenever I wake up…)  . . .I may only get half a block but by God and all that is holy, I am going to go that half block and back. “

And I DID IT!

Walk 2014-05-03Can we have an “Amen”?

Can I hear the sisters shout “Hallelujah”

I *WAS* going to do this awesome cool photo gallery in this spot… showing the photos I took on my walk… BUT…

Once more dear readers, back into the bloody friggin breech. . .

It is tough to keep moving . . .

. . . and it is even harder to move forward

Handsome construction worker

The good news is that forward movement is indeed taking place.  And it has been for the past two weeks.

And so, I’m back in the proverbial saddle and resuming construction on the website (and on me, but more on THAT  in a bit…)

You may notice that the big fancy landing page is gone and I’m back to the old version of the website..  Yes?

Oh.. you hadn’t noticed?  Well SHAME on you!

sigh

Well I am back to the old site but it needs an update on the menu and some of the “who I am” stuff and “contact me” stuff and well, basically that’s why I have the photo of the hunky construction worker over there.

“Never miss a chance to put a photo of beefcake into a blog post is my motto…”

A moment of reverent silence while we enjoy the beefyness…

Ok, moving on.

I really hate to whine.  I hate to even seem like I’m whining.

But I’m going to do it.  So grab some crackers and cheese to enjoy with my whine…

Life is TOUGH when you have to deal with depression…

The good news is that, right now, things are rocking along and going pretty good:

It’s Been a while… and do you work on trucks?

HELP!

I need a mobile mechanic (shade-tree, backyard variety of car fixing up guy or gal).

mechanic-kittyI am finally selling my Mazda B3000 (more on that later) Before I sell it there are two things I would like to take off my “old truck” (the Mazda” and install on my “new truck” the Toyota Tacoma.

The two things are: (1) a set of chrome bed rails and (2) the security alarm.

Those who know me well know that I’m living right now on a VERY SMALL monthly pension so I can’t pay a lot to have this done (think payment in terms of a six pack of beer & a pizza).

So if you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and you are willing to come to my parking lot (where the truck is parked) and do this for me let me know. Your pizza awaits!

See ya on the dance floor!

P.S.  If you do NOT live in the DFW area then I hope that the photo of the Mechanic Kitty to the right at least got you to smile.

Cheers!

Buyer Beware! or… “Why isn’t anything ever easy?”

Ok… all together now…

Snake Oil SalesmanSiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

There.  Feel better?  I do!

Why can’t companies just leave their products alone when there is nothing wrong with them?  Hmmmm?

Why do they have to go and fiddle with it when it ain’t broke?  Hmmmm?

Why?   SIGH  Wondering why I’m carrying on about?  Well I’m glad ya asked!

Whole Foods = Whole Paycheck

I know, it’s an old joke but there is an element of truth in it.  I used to shop at Whole Foods for just about everything back when I was working 40 hours a week as a librarian.

But now, living on a fixed income plus whatever bits and scrapings I can pull in from doing surveys, and micro-tasking and, selling my graphic designs online and writing and…Whole Foods Stevia Extract

Well, you get the idea.  I can’ afford to shop at Whole Foods.  I like Whole Foods but I can’t afford to shop there.

However… there was one item for which I’ve been going to Whole foods to buy once a month: Stevia Extract, the 365 Brand which is Whole Foods “store brand.”

But as I said in the title “Why isn’t anything ever easy?”

Those Pesky Additives

I’d never really looked at the ingredients of the Stevia I bought from Whole Foods closely but this week I did and I was SHOCKED: Read the rest of this entry

What was your “turning point?”

I have a question for you guys…

I know that usually I carry on at great (and hopefully entertaining lengths) and the topic is generally, well “moi”

But today’s post is going to be a bit different…  Right below is this awesome blank spot where you can leave comments on a post, this post.   I’d like to hear from you folks out there and the question is:

What was your “turning point?”

What was it that made you move toward a healthier you?  What “flipped the switch” for you?

The floor is now yours:
