The Electric Slide — The World’s Easiest Line Dance
New Article Posted on Squidoo.com
First, let’s get your daily ration of “cute” taken care of…
Check out the little boy over to the right. Check out his cool shades, his big happy smile and his really styling hair..
Bad pun warning…
He just came down a SLIDE and his hair is charged with static ELECTRICty… Get it? “Electric Slide?”
Ok, moving on…
The Electric Slide (the dance)
This dance is probably the best recognized dance in the world and is my nomination for the worlds easiest line dance. Scratch that. The Wobble is the world’s easiest line dance, but the Electric Slide is a close second. This dance is designed for drunk people who actually can’t dance but who suddenly discover that they have always held a secret desire to dance and who believe their new found dance ability has nothing to do with the six beers they’ve drank so far in the course of the evening.
Be that as it may….it is popular, it is easy and I’ve got to teach it. BUT I really really REALLY hate the song that it is done to. *sigh* So, being the very smart person I am I went online and asked all my line dancing buddies to give me suggestions about OTHER songs that I could use instead of the one that is usually played that makes me want to hurl after three notes.
And Voila! The article over at Squidoo is the result. There is this cool “voting” thingie that allows you to cast your vote for your favorite song. You can preview the songs for free (and download them for your very own – *hint* *hint* from iTunes or from Amazon).
There is a tiny bit of “history” about the dance so you’ll get your daily educational requirement out of the way.
And there are some fun photos including one of a really hunky DJ. Oh my! The DJ’s name is Andi Mik and he’s a really nice guy in addition to being very hunky. His music mixes are awesome and you can subscribe to them at http://www.djandimik.com/ or in iTunes.
So, hop on over:
