Fifteen of my Squidoo Articles are in the Top 100 Dance Lenses!

Cat Diva Kitty – I iz awesome! – with Watermark ©2012Let’s hear it for the boy!

When you write an lens, what Squidoo calls articles, you have to select a category into which you place your newly created masterpiece.

Because I write a lot about Line Dancing, and Squidoo does not have a separate category for “Line Dancing”, most of my articles end up in:

Entertainment & Media » Dance » Other Dance Topics

I think you can see that these categories are basically very broad subjects.  Entertainment & Media is VERY broad and includes:

  • Celebrities
  • Movies
  • TV
  • Humor
  • Performing Arts
  • Anime & Manga
  • Dance
  • Theater
  • Radio
  • Web Series & Shows

Whoz da kittyAnd, sadly I do not have ANY lenses in the top 100 in Entertainment & Media.  However….  [drum roll please]  When we get to DANCE, things are a different story.  Right now I have 48 articles on Squidoo and 26 of those are in the “Dance” category.

So… [drum roll please] …uhm… doing math here… give me a second… carry the 2 and divide by 100 and take the square root… oh the heck with it…  I’m going to go ask my room mate who is a math teacher for the answer.  Be right back.   da-da-da-dum   Ok.  I’m back!   Still there?  Great!  🙂

The answer is:  Read the rest of this entry

Five Tips for the First Time Dance Competitor

Ballroom Dance Competitors Dancing in a ContestCongratulations! You’re already a winner!

I remember my first time competing. I have to confess, that I was very nervous which is really weird because I love being in front of people! That didn’t stop me from being nervous however. I still get nervous just before walking onto the dance floor for the first dance at every event. Truthfully, it feels like I gotta go to the little dancer’s room!

I said “You too?” He grinned this silly sheepish grin and replied that he always feels that way. He didn’t really need *ahem* “to go” and neither did I, but the nerves made it feel that way. So, I asked him, “You’ve been dancing for years now, you’re a ‘pro!’ Why do you still get nervous?” He laughed and said that no one ever stops getting nervous, they just learn to handle it better as time goes on.

So let me be the first to welcome you to the family of competitive dancers. To help you get to the point where you “handle it better” I’m offering five tips that…
