If you will indulge me… I’m going to brag just a bit

Keep the rotten tomatoes handy in case my head gets TOO Big…

I iz Awesome ©2011One of the things I’ve been doing to create new income, since losing my job, is to write online.

The first actual money from this writing won’t show up until August, but all in all, I think it is shaping up into a very nice endeavor.

In case you were wondering, yes, there are people who actually do make money at it.  If you’re curious and want some cold hard statistics check out Greekgeek’s Squidoo Stats.

But I digress…  Back to that bragging thing…  😉

My Best Lens so far…

#3 in Dance! My top ranking lens is “Easy Line Dances for Weddings, Company Picnics, Family Reunions, and Parties of all Kinds” Here is the link to the article if you’d like to read it: http://tinyurl.com/7ggmx3u

That lens {what Squidoo calls articles} just clocked in at No. 3 in the top 100 Dance list.

AND…  it is ranked #1,292 overall out of 1,749,556 (almost two million) lenses putting it into the Tier One category which pays out the highest percentage of ad revenue sharing. Basically the more people who read it, the more I get paid. 🙂 Woot!

But honestly, I am jazzed that so many people are enjoying the post! It really gives me a great feeling. Hmmmm…I hope that isn’t the pain meds! LOL

More braggin’…

So far I’ve written only 15 articles on Squidoo.  Seven of them are on dance topics.

SIX of those seven articles are in the TOP 100!!!

Six of my Dance Lenses are in the top 100!Cowboy Smiley (CC)Not too shabby ifin I’s says so mai self!  and I does!

Here are all seven dance related lenses I’ve written with their rankings as of now:

#3 Easy Line Dances for Weddings, Company Picnics, Family Reunions, and Parties of all Kinds

#9 Top Ten Line Dances from the World Line Dance Newsletter

#21 Top Ten Line Dances from LineDancer Magazine

#34 Top 10 “Best Known” Line Dances from the Kickit Line Dance Archive

#41 Dancers Are Special People …and EVERYBODY can dance!

#54 Music to Dance By: Triple Two Step

Then there is this slacker!

I guess I shouldn’t be greedy…Uhmmm…

NOPE!  I want it all!

Bwuhaaaaaaaa!!! [doing my best mad-scientist-evil-dictator-dominatrix laugh]

but I digress..   For whatever reason, this poor little lens is not in top 100-*snif*

Five Tips for the First Time Dance Competitor

Hmmmm..

Bwuhaaaaaaaa!!! [doing my best mad-scientist-evil-dictator-dominatrix laugh AGAIN]

I bet that if lots of people…

People like my attractive, intelligent, lovely, kind, generous, sweet-natured, sexy, brilliant, caring, giving, dearest readers who obviously posses a refined, discerning,  sense of taste…

…would visit the poor lonely lens then hit like & share, then this poor little dance lens could join the rest of its family in the top 100.

Wouldn’t that be nice?  😉 [attempting to look innocent]

But I digress… 😉

So there you have it.  In all seriousness, I’m pretty proud of this accomplishment.  I only have a few lenses and statistically, those are doing very very well.

I hope I can keep this up because I really don’t want to go back to the 9-5 grind.  If the writing, along with teaching dance, along with a half of dozen other things all line up then I may actually succeed in my crazy ambition to transform myself from an out-of-shape unemployed librarian into a fit, healthy self-employed writer and dance instructor.

See ya on the dance floor!
