I’m having an Online Garage Sale
My Inner Domestic Diva has gone Crazy!
She has declared war on the legions of dust bunnies inhabiting my living space and has threatened an INTERVENTION!
She said that if I didn’t help her de-clutter the place and get rid of some of the junk that has been taking up space that she was going to call the booking agent for that reality TV show about hoarders and turn my name in!
Since I can’t abide reality TV shows, and she was about to throw her tiara at me… I gave in.

All kidding aside… …I need the cash in a bad way.
I really do need to clean out the storage closet. By selling a bunch of stuff that I haven’t even looked at in years, I’ll be able to move what remains to a smaller unit and save some bucks on the rent.
However, I’m also doing this bit of “fall cleaning” because I really do need the cash. My truck insurance is due on the 16th. Urk and I’m $69 short. And after that there is…
well, I think you get the idea.
If you don’t feel like shopping for yourself, you can always shop for me!
I’ve created a “wish list” of things I need but don’t have the money for right now over on Amazon.
Anything on the list (some stuff is under $5) will be shipped to me as a gift.

I’m making progress..
I promise that this is going to be the shortest post I’ve ever made… My version of a “Tweet” LOL
I just realized something for the SECOND day in a row that needs to be shared.
Yesterday I did a bit of housework which a month ago would have left me gasping, and I did it with no problems. Sailed right through it as a matter of fact.
Woot! Yeeeeeeeee Haw! I actually tweeted about it and put it on my Facebook page.
Why I’m doing this post as well is because:
Just moments ago, I finished up 45 minutes of activity around the house concluding with rotating my mattress on my bed.
I will confess that the mattress did me in. I had to sit down and I was breathing heavy. BUT… when I went to update my activity log (more about that log in a future post) I saw that it had been 45 minutes from the last time stamp!
OMG!!! 45 FRIGGIN MINUTES!
Now it ain’t as if I had run a marathon or anything but we’re talking 45 minutes of non-stop activity
- making some phone calls
- sorting laundry
- spraying it with pre-wash
- pouring some enzyme cleaning drain-maintenance stuff into the drains in the bathroom
- pulling sheets off the bed
- stripping all the pillow cases
- spraying THAT with pre-wash
- finding the clean sheets and bringing them to the bedroom
- and then…. rotating the mattress
which pushed me over the proverbial edge. I needed to sit down.
So… I do believe a round of applause is in order!
All kidding aside, this “revelation” proves to me that the approach I’m taking this time is working, and will continue to work.

I’ve been BUZZZEEE!
I’ve crossed a lot off my “To Do” list…
Because I don’t want to spend a lot of time and because the clock is staring at me and because I’ve got to get up tomorrow at 8am whether or not I’m rested and because I’ve got a LONG day ahead of me tomorrow, I’m going to make this quick.
Well, “quick” as in “quick for Tony”
Anyway… first a confession. Over the past two years as my life has slid into the crapper, my humble abode which consists of a small room, a bathroom, a portion of the kitchen and a corner of the dining room have become well, uhmmm… Icky.
Dusty. Dirty. Cluttered. Messy even. I’ve not had friends over to visit because I’m sure they’d shriek “INTERVENTION” and call the booking agent for that show about horders.
Here is a pic of my room, all tidy and neat. — at least one side of it anyway…. 🙂 And don’t try to zoom in, there is dust but I kept the resolution down low so ya can’t see it… so there! Thhhhhppppttttttt!
Anyway, I’ve realized though that something which got messed up over the course of MANY months can’t be fixed in a day or even a week. It is going to take a little each day to get everthing ship shape, dusted, cleaned, organized and toss a lot of stuff I don’t need and don’t use out the door…
Hmmmm… that applies to me and my body as well doesn’t it?!
Wow….deep thoughts late at night. Oh my!
Ok, Off the top of my head here are the things that I’ve accomplished over the past week (in no particular order)
- Installed new blinds in the window of my room — the old ones were grody
- Listed a bunch of stuff for sale on ebay and Amazon, holding kind of an “online garage sale” If you want to take a peek here are some links.
