Starting Over…
Brace yourself folks… this is probably going to be my shortest blog post ever. And you folks who know me, can stop laughing hysterically. Right now!
Jus’ the facts:
- I am horribly out of shape.
- My weight is affecting not only my health but my daily activities and my dancing.
Goals for this week:
- Weigh in daily.
- No diet coke. None. Zip. Nada.
- Switch to green tea in the evenings / 3 cups coffee in the AM
- No fast food. If I don’t fix and eat it at home, it isn’t on the menu.
- Do “Program Before the Program #1 from Getting Back in Shape: 32 Workout Programs for Lifelong Fitness
- The “move” part of the program this week will be Line Dance Practice on Tue, Thur, and Friday.
- On Saturday, I will take my bike out to White Rock Lake and ride it VERY slowly for a very short distance.

Looking for “Cruisin” Song Recommendations
There’s a Whole Lot of Dancin’ Goin’ On!
I posted a request to the World Line Dance Newsletter for people to send me the names of the songs that they use in their area to dance the “Cruisin” line dance.

Line Dance Levels Explained, Defined and Demystified!
What are Line Dance Levels?
Asking “What are line dance levels?” feels a wee bit silly doesn’t it? I know that I felt a little strange asking the question. I mean, after all, the whole idea of “Beginner – Intermediate – Advanced” is a concept that most of us “get” right away.
It isn’t a silly question, of course.
Even though most of us can easily grasp the concept of a ranking system which starts with…
…“so easy a baby could do it…”
…moves through “kinda in the middle someplace”…
…and ends up at “you have GOT to be kidding me!”…it is not easy to figure out exactly which dance goes where. It is quite a mess in fact! No wonder folks get confused!
Fear not fellow dancer, by the end of this short article you’ll be able to skim the workshop list at a dance event and decide with confidence which ones are right for you.
What most folks are really asking when they say “What are “Line Dance Levels?” is for more detail so they can then be able to sort the dances into their proper levels.
To put it another way, what people are asking is: “Where are the dividing lines between the levels and what steps are in each level?

This is an article that has been on my “To do” list for quite a while. And I finally got around to it. Because I’ve been line dancing quite a while, I have a pretty good grasp of what the levels are, however, as I’ve started teaching line dance, I’ve discovered that for many people the levels are confusing.
So this article is an attempt to sort it all out. I think it is pretty well written, but then I’m kinda biased. LOL Hmmm I wonder if I could get the judges at dance comps to let me judge myself? wink
Anyway, the article explains about the different “levels” that choreographers assign to their line dances, and talks about how you can, uhhmmmm, judge for yourself whether or not something is really a “beginner” or if the dance should actually be called an “improver” or “intermediate”
As with all my articles I write, there is a wee bit of humor thrown in just for giggles and grins, some cool photos of folks dancing, and some fun polls. I hope you enjoy it.

Dancers Are Special People — and EVERYONE can dance!

You may laugh but it is true! Everyone can dance!
How many times have you heard someone say “I can’t dance”? Hmmmm? I bet you’ve heard it a lot.
However heartfelt folks may be who say “I can’t dance,” they are incorrect. They are mistaken. They “jus’ ain’t right” or, as we say in Texas:
“They are pure-dee wrong!”EVERYONE can dance!
Dancing only requires two things: (1) the ability to move (2) and the ability to “hear” a beat.
To Dance, all you need is…

Alas, my article has plateaued: “Books and Songs from the Rachel Maddow Show” is stuck in the mudd
Ok, I’m on my knees…
One of the “fun” photos that are sprinkled throughout the article. This army major was one of Rachel’s escorts when she broadcast from Kandahar.
Getcher mind OUT of the gutter! Not in that sense! LOL
The article was going up and up and up. But now has stalled and I need your help to get it going again.
There are almost 800 people following my posts, spread out among Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, and Feedburner.
All I need is each of you to follow the link to the article and let it load.
That would give me almost 800 hits on the lens. That will take you about 10 seconds.
If you have 3 minutes to spare, I would love it if you could hit all the “like” and “share” buttons up at the top of the article after it loads.

Here is a screen capture that shows how many folks have hit those like and share buttons. The #141 count is for Facebook. Which means the 235 folks who have gone to the page, 141 of them have hit at least one of the “like” buttons! THANK YOU — THANK YOU — THANK YOU!!!!

You can see that after steadily climbing in the ranks it has leveled off and now is basically flat.

I’ve gone to every Rachel Maddow Fan site and left messages and asked for cross linking. The BIG spike in visits was the result of one of those fan sites Tweeting about my article.

But now that I’ve got all the books and songs listed back to Jan 1st it is time to put this article in maintenance mode, do the daily updates, and live with whatever level it comes to rest at.
