It’s NOT “just” a Diet Coke!
Earlier this week, I was out running a lot errands: dropping off clothes at the cleaners, picking up my mail from my post office box, swinging by Walgreens for some fabric stain remover prewash spray gunk, filling up the truck with gas. You know the drill, doing a whole bunch of the minutia of life.
I had just finished at Jenny Craig, where I weighed 283.6 lbs, a loss of 1.6 lbs from the week before!
Woo Hoo! Happy dance! Uh-huh! Uh-huh! Uh-huh! [doing that circle thing with hands out in front of me]
But I digress…
I had my week’s Jenny Craig food in my truck and was headed North on Central Drive. While I was basking in the good feelings from the weigh-in, I was mentally running down the list of what was next “to do.” Then…
[cue the foreboding music!]
There IT was!
“World Championships” mean it’s time to plan for the coming Competition Year
“
Heat # 55, bringing to the floor in Male Newcomer Pro-Ams, number 442 dancing with his pro….”
“Now for the dance of love… Polka!”
“Remember gentlemen, you’re supposed to gaze lovingly at her during the night club”
“Let’s hear it for our dancers” *applause*
“And in first place, our new World Champion in Male Newcomer Open…”
Ah, the sounds of competition at the UCWDC Country Dance World Championships, “Worlds” for short. The World Championships are held the first week of January each year and there are dancers from all over the world competing. This year it is in Orlando Florida. The dancers at the event have been working all year long toward this final event of the year, the culmination of 12 months of effort.
Just so you know, Worlds XX is actually going on right now; right this very minute in fact. I’m watching the Female Starter B and Female Newcomer Pro-Am competition right now as I type this, streaming live from GlobalDance.TV. They are just finishing Night Club and then they’ll do Cha-Cha, followed by the Waltz heats.

2011-12-29, Week 2, Weekly Progress Photos
This past week was more mental than physical, so the numbers were down just a tiny bit. There is no visible change in the photos, yet! 🙂
On a practical note, I think I’ll change hats each week, just to keep it interesting and so that the photos don’t look too much alike. Hmmm… I wonder how many hats I have? [wicked grin]. Oh my! This could be FUN!
I put a lot of mental effort into answering the questions “What is health?“ and “What does health mean to me and how does my picture of health fit in with the HAES movement?” Read the two posts for more info.
