Texas Hoedown Special – “Intro to Competition Line Dance”

Texas Hoedown is this Weekend!

Texas Hoedown Logo copyThe Texas Hoedown is the first event in the ACDA‘s dance year.  ACDA is “American Country Dance Association”

If you are anywhere within easy  travel distance of the Dallas / Fort Worth area, I encourage you to come on out and join the fun.

And this event is FUN!  It is the one universal comment that folks who have been to the Hoedown always mention:

  • Social Dancing – both partners and line dancing
  • Competition in Country Western
  • Jack & Jill in Two step and West Coast Swing
  • Sat night show and “Crown / Masters” competition as part of the show

What’s not to like?

I’ll be there all weekend…

    • 5pm on Fri, Mar 11 in the Line Dance Lobby
6, 8, 12 / choreographed by Daan Geelen (Beginner / Improver) Night Club Two-step style line dance
Listen to the music for the dance: 6, 8, 12 by Brian McKnight

  • I *might* be competing 1 dance on Sunday morning…still working on the dance.  Hey don’t judge!  My life has been crazy the last few weeks…I had to prioritize.  So there!  😀  IF I get the dance ready I’ll compete.  If not…I’ll scratch.

“Introduction to Competition Line Dancing”

Folks I’m nuts. There. I said it. (why do I feel like I’m channeling a used car salesman all the sudden?) Hmmmm
Here’s the deal. I like line dancing. I think EVERY competitive dancer who does Pro-Am and/or Couples should ALSO line dance.
I believe this sooo MUCH that I’m willing to teach an “Intro to Line Dance Competition” lesson for only $15 (plus floor fees if applicable) — No Floor fees at the Texas Hoedown!!!! *hint* *hint*
If you take the “Intro to Line Competition” lesson during the Hoedown OR book the lesson for a later date, the rate is only $15. And “yes” we can do this remotely. (via Skype)
Do not miss this special rate. The price goes back up on Monday after the Hoedown is over.
My contact info is below in the graphic.  Or you can use my contact form to book the lesson.

The Texas Hoedown — Scrapbook Scribblings

Welcome to my “Scrapbook Scribbles” for the Texas Hoedown (March 23-25).  You’ll find jottings and photos which, in no particular order, describe all the fun from last weekend at the Texas Hoedown, first stop on the ACDA circuit.

  • I love the Texas Hoedown because it is so very laid back and friendly.  Virginia and Jerry, the event owners are awesome folks and they work overtime to make everyone feel welcome.  And I love being with other folks who love dancing as much as I do; the Hoedown is a “must attend event” for people in the Southwest.  It is the first big event of the year and is something of a family reunion where you get to see friends you haven’t seen since the end of last year’s dance season.  The Hoedown is an awesome experience and lots of fun.

The Week in Review or… “Ya gotta have a bag-o-tricks”

Iz Magic! ©2011For the first trick of the evening:  Being Strong without even trying…

I have to share a “moment” from this week from where I work  I’m surrounded by a group of folks who like to bring in food and leave it on the break room table for everyone.

This is sweet and nice and generous, and it does foster a sense of community at the workplace, HOWEVER, for me those little offerings of friendship are sneak attacks!  They are land mines on the way to a healthy me!  They are evil incarnate!  Basically they kinda suck eggs.
