A tale of the “Evil Empire” Part 1
Ok, here is your official GEEK warning. First, however, there will be DRAMA. Everyone is welcome to read that. Then there will be Geek stuff sprinkled with drama (little d). The Geeks can read that. Or the really bored can read it. Hey, my blog gets the “hits” either way. 🙂
So, dear reader, you are officially warned that I’m gonna GEEK out on you. You’re not going to get a DRAMA warning as it should be obvious by now that there is ALWAYS drama in my life.
So, I’m going to geek out on you and talk about computers and such. Nope, narry a mention of weight loss or food or fitness or health will be made in this post. Why you ask, oh faithful readers? Why the digression?
Well because Uhm… pardon me while I pull this soap box out of the corner and put it front and center so I can go on a bit of a rant (ok, ok, I’ll through in some hard-core facts for you too)
<Scccccrrrrrrraaaapppppeeeeeee> Now where was I? Oh, yes….
AT&T is EVIL
There. I feel better now that I’ve got that off my chest. 🙂 Ok, maybe they’re not evil, I’m sure there are lots of very nice people working for AT&T, but the company seems to have this philosophy that is bent on maximizing their profits while ignoring the most basic tenants of customer service. More about that in Part 2 when I compare AT&T and Jitterbug/Great Call
The sad part is that they are not the worst Internet Service Provider out there! Eeek! Read the rest of this entry
The Texas Hoedown — Scrapbook Scribblings
Welcome to my “Scrapbook Scribbles” for the Texas Hoedown (March 23-25). You’ll find jottings and photos which, in no particular order, describe all the fun from last weekend at the Texas Hoedown, first stop on the ACDA circuit.
- I love the Texas Hoedown because it is so very laid back and friendly. Virginia and Jerry, the event owners are awesome folks and they work overtime to make everyone feel welcome. And I love being with other folks who love dancing as much as I do; the Hoedown is a “must attend event” for people in the Southwest. It is the first big event of the year and is something of a family reunion where you get to see friends you haven’t seen since the end of last year’s dance season. The Hoedown is an awesome experience and lots of fun.
..
I was on the Line Dance Staff and have a cool name badge that says “Instructor” as a souvenir. Hey, it’s cool to me! 🙂
..- OMG! I almost forgot to mention…! PANT <taking deep breaths> ! Read the rest of this entry
♬♫♪♩ O.K.L.A.H.O.M.A! ♩♪♫♬
Just be glad that you can’t actually hear me singing! I’m a dancer, not a singer. 😉 Actually I can sing, but I don’t have a “pretty” singing voice. I have in the acting trade what is known as a “character voice” meaning I can hit the notes but it isn’t a “singer’s voice.”
In other words, I can’t entertain solely on the sound of my voice. Instead, there has to be some other factor involved like a humorous song selection or I have to be playing a character in a musical. But I digress… Hmmm has there ever been a post on this blog where I have not digressed? *grin*
Back to the whole dancing thing. My next event will be in Oklahoma. Here is the details.

Another New Page on my Blog: I’ve turned “Pro”
Well, it had to happen sometime. I am officially a “Professional Line Dance Instructor” 🙂
I guess this means that I’m in it for the money! LOL
And I’m sure that I’ll be rolling in the dough like Scrooge McDuck within days. Right? Oh how nice it will be to be part of the 1% 😉 Yeah, right and if you believe that, let’s talk real estate. I have a lovely bridge for sale.
But I digress… I do that don’t I? Check out my new “Line Dance Instructor” page on my blog. You’ll find a list of the line dance services I offer along with the rates. And don’t let the hat fool you, yes, I can and do teach non-country line dances. You’ll also find a little bit of background on my experience and how I got into dancing. If anyone spots any typos feel free to let me know.
My blog also has an Event Calendar showing which events I’ll be teaching line dance workshops at this year. A *HUGE* thank you to the event directors who have put me on their line dance staff. *hugs*
