Weekly Line Dance Top Ten Lists Updated

There Are a Lot of Line Dance Lists!

Line Dancing on the street in Zurich Switzerland

There are lots of places on the Web that track the “Top Ten” line dances on a weekly or monthly basis.

And every single one of the darn tootin’ thangs seem to have a different way of calculating just which dances are the top ten.

*sigh*

It’s enough to make one’s inner domestic diva want to take off her tiara and eat bon bons!

Never fear, dearest readers, all twelve of you who actually read this blog…  I, the awesome, the fantastic, the studly, being the kind, generous, friendly, charming person that I am have set out to make sense out of that muddle of mish-mashy information and simply for you.  Can I have an amen?!

Ok, so, what I’ve done, is create two articles on Squidoo:

TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Summary of Top Ten Line Dance Lists

TxCowboyDancer's Top Ten Line Dance ReviewWhat you’ll find on this page is a summary of all the Top Ten Lists that of which I keep track.  You’ll find a simple straight forward listing of the “Top Ten” dances from each list along with a link to the full list for that website.  Here is the blurb from the beginning of the the Review:

Welcome to TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Report of the Top Line Dances from ranking sites around the world.

Keeping track of all those line dances is a lot like Herding Cats which is why I created this summary page to make life a bit easier! (And why there is a photo of a cute Cowboy KItty. 🙂

Those wanting more information can follow the links to visit a “Detailed Report” for each site containing the “Top Ten” dances, links to the stepsheets, demo & walk-through videos, and the music for each dance.  [read the full review…]

I monitor several line dance survey lists from different websites:

1. World Line Dance Newsletter
2. LineDancer Magazine
3. CopperKnob Line Dance Archive
4. Kickit Line Dance Archive

The following dances are ones which appear in the “Top Ten” lists on at least two of the four websites listed above, making them the most popular line dances on the planet!

HOTTEST — On all Four List
HOTTER — On Three of the Four Lists
HOT — On Two of the Four Lists
[Check out the dances listed in the article...]

So, there you have it,  I hope you enjoy my two summary lists.

If you want to see ALL of the articles I have over at Squidoo, you can check out my Profile Page where there is a directory of all 47 articles I’ve written so far.

Ask and Yee Shall Receive… …photos and a video!

Since you asked…

Tony at Peker's

One of my readers emailed and requested that I post a recent photo of me and a recent video of me dancing. Who am I to deny my teeming hordes of readers such enjoyment (all four of you who read this blog … five if you count my Mom).

Anyway….

The photo over to the right was taken by a very nice guy (whose name I can’t remember) who is a regular at the local “corner bar” I hang out at when I want to have a beer or two and have the extra cash to actually do so.

The name of the bar is Pekers and I even blogged about it in one of my posts: As the Boots Turn…

I really like the bar. I don’t go there a lot now that I’m unemployed. *sigh* However it’s a great bar!

Pekers is one of those local places where you just go in and everybody knows you, at least casually and you can just relax and have a beer, play a video game, and if you’re in the mood, have a conversation or a couple of laughs.

Here are a few more photos, all from the 2013 World Championships (Jan 2013)…

2013 Calendar / Event Calendar Updated

Don’t you hate the words “Tentative” and “Possible” and “Probable?”

Kitty dreaming of the Cat Calendar Centerfold ©2011Well unfortunately, at this point in the year, there is no help for it…  *sigh*

I’ve updated my calendar, for now.  Stay tuned for more changes over the coming few days as I line up this year’s schedule.

At any event where I’m attending  I’m ALWAYS available for private coaching and teaching.  In fact, I’ll stand on my head and do back flips to make the schedule work so I can meet you!  Woot!

Uhmmm… don’t literally hold me to that whole stand on the head thing…it is a metaphor.  If I actually tried to do a back flip it would be the end of my dancing career.  Urk.

Anyway, stay tuned as the calendar continues to be updated and detail added.  😀

Putting “Getting Fit and Healthy” into Perspective

An interesting comment at Worlds, sparks some deep thought and a very long blog post…

Backdrop on the stage at Worlds 2013While I was at the World Championships of Country Western Dance, I pretty much cornered anyone who would listen to me for more than 60 seconds and regaled them with my “plans for the coming year.”

Side note:  for those of you who want me to get to the point without my usual “Tony Ramblings”  *ahem*  Today’s topic is:

“trying to come up with an analogy that accurately encompasses the magnitude of someone’s effort to ‘get fit and healthy'”

Tigger bouncingBut saying it that concisely just sounds way to scholarly for my taste.  And it is Borrrring!  And way *not fun* and way “too brief”, so back to the ramblings of Tony’s Brain as I set up the picture for you.  🙂

So, at Worlds, I “trapped” lots of people and forced them to watch me make like Tigger as I bounced around in excitement and effused about my plans for the coming year!

Just in case you don’t know who Tigger is watch this video:

This enforced captivity on the part of my listeners at Worlds usually started off with the innocent and alluring sounding statement

“Did you hear my good news?  I won a spot on the US DanceSport Team!  China here I come!  then…
