This has been a good week… Doin’ a Happy Dance!

Life is lookin’ good!

Calvin and Hobbes Dancing

Just a quick rundown of some great things that have been happening to me over the past few days…  Woot!  Uh-huh!  YeeHaw!

  • I’ve been feeling a LOT better, more energy, moving around easier, more active.
    ..
  • I am now within spittin’ distance of 300 lbs!  Woot! This will be a major milestone, just a few more pounds!!  Yay!
    ..
  • I’ve started planning for next year’s “Dance Competition Season”  Woot!  Check out my updated Calendar to see which events I think I’ll be attending… — I’ve started looking at dances and music for next year.  I’ve already been invited to perform in the Saturday night show at the Texas Hoedown in March!  Thank you Virginia for the invite!  I start rehearsals on Monday. It will so good to get back into the studio!
    ..
  • My Blood Glucose levels are mostly within the target range.  My big challenge is taking my meds on a regular schedule.  My sleep cycle keeps messing up my “take the meds” time.  *sigh* but it is getting better!  Progress!  Not Perfection!  Woot!
    ..
  • I’ve been cleaning out old files on my computer, sorting them, deleting them, renaming and organizing the ones I need/want to keep.
    ..
  • And over the past few days, I’ve had a sudden surge of folks buying stuff off of my design store: TxCowboyDancer Designs!  Woot!  Uh-huh!  It really does make me feel good when something I created is bought by someone who thinks highly enough of it to lay out some cold hard cash.  Even at a measly 10% commission.  But hey, I ain’t gonna turn it down!  Woot! Here is the current “Top Dozen” most popular designs on my site:

My top twelve designs 2015-09-09

  • Also in the “graphic design” front, one of my very favorite designs was purchased this week *and* it appears in the Top 12 for the first time!  Woot!  It is a photo I took when I visited Banff, just outside of Calgary, Canada.  I fell in love.  I actually checked job listings at their local library when I got back home to Texas.  Alas, there were no openings.  *sigh*  Here is the photo for your enjoyment (or if you wanna buy something with it on it, well that works too!)  LOL

I mean, I’m not a pro photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes you get lucky…  *sigh*  I wish I could go back….

  • And, finally, I’ve noticed over the past few days that I am more flexible, I’m able to reach and twist more that I could a month ago.  Life is good.

Updated two pages: Songs for the Tush Push

New Pages here on my Website / Blog

Image used with permission of the copyright holderI used to write over on Squidoo.com but Squidoo went dark and all those pages got moved to HubPages.  When that happened, I took a look at the amount of work that I would need to do to make my “Squidoo” pages meet “HubPages” standards.

And I ran shrieking…..

Ok, ok, maybe I’m being a bit dramatic. Who? Me? “being dramatic?”  Naaaaawwwww

Perhaps there were not actual shrieks involved.

Well, ENNYway, I toggled all the articles to “private” so that they would not be visible to folks out on the InterWebz.

Now, I’m finally getting around to rewriting them.  Some will appear on HubPages.  Some, like these first two articles will be moved to here on my blog/website:

SLOW SONGS for the Tush Push
..

FAST SONGS for the Tush Push

Be sure to VOTE for your favorite SLOW Song and for your favorite FAST Song!

And…  I did a blog post a few days which gives a kind of “overview” or “introduction to the Tush Push.  So, if you have no idea what a “Tush” is or why you would want to “Push” it to music, well then this is the post for you:

Have you heard of the “Tush Push?”

TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Line Dance Review posted for this week.

There Are a Lot of Line Dance Lists!

Image used with permission of the copyright holderThere are lots of places on the Web that track the “Top Ten” line dances on a weekly or monthly basis.

And every single one of the darn tootin’ thangs seem to have a different way of calculating just which dances are the top ten.

sigh

It’s enough to make one’s inner domestic diva want to take off her tiara and eat bon bons!

Never fear, dearest readers, all twelve of you who actually read this blog…  I, the awesome, the fantastic, the studly, being the kind, generous, friendly, charming person that I am have set out to make sense out of that muddle of mish-mashy information and simply for you.  Can I have an amen?!

Ok, so, what I’ve done, is create two articles on Squidoo:

TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Summary of Top Ten Line Dance Lists

Cowboy Cat in full cowboy gear standing behind fence-SQUARE WITH BORDER (CC)What you’ll find on this page is a summary of all the Top Ten Lists that of which I keep track.  You’ll find a simple straight forward listing of the “Top Ten” dances from each list along with a link to the full list for that website.  Here is the blurb from the beginning of the the Review:

Welcome to TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Report of the Top Line Dances from ranking sites around the world.

Keeping track of all those line dances is a lot like Herding Cats which is why I created this summary page to make life a bit easier! (And why there is a photo of a cute Cowboy KItty. 🙂

Those wanting more information can follow the links to visit a “Detailed Report” for each site containing the “Top Ten” dances, links to the stepsheets, demo & walk-through videos, and the music for each dance.

TxCowboyDancer’s Best of the Best: The Hottest Line Dances in the World

TxCowboyDancer's Review of the World's Hottest Line DancesFor those folks who don’t even want to deal with the summary page in the List Review,  I’ve created a page where I only list those dances appearing on multiple websites.  Here is the blurb from the beginning of the artilce.

I monitor several line dance survey lists from different websites:

1. World Line Dance Newsletter
2. LineDancer Magazine
3. CopperKnob Line Dance Archive
4. Kickit Line Dance Archive

The following dances are ones which appear in the “Top Ten” lists on at least two of the four websites listed above, making them the most popular line dances on the planet!

HOTTEST — On all Four List
HOTTER — On Three of the Four Lists
HOT — On Two of the Four Lists
[Check out the dances listed in the article...]

So, there you have it,  I hope you enjoy my two summary lists.

If you want to see ALL of the articles I have over at Squidoo, you can check out my Profile Page where there is a directory of all 54 articles I’ve written so far.

Ugh… My body hates me.

Jus tha’ facts…  Jus tha’ facts…

c2013 TxCowboyDancer DesignsI just woke up about an hour ago.  That would be 11:30 CST.  Ugh.  I went to bed last night at 12:30ish so I was probably asleep by 1am.  Ok, campers, lets do the math.  [drum roll please]  That works out to roughly 10 and 1/2 hours of sleep!!!!!!

My body hates me.

Ok, ok, it really doesn’t hate me but it is being VERY demanding:

Me:  I’m going to get you into shape.  Here’s the work out plan.

Body: Excuse me?  Are you serious?  You’re nuts

Me:  Yes I’m serious about this.  We are going to get into shape.

Body: Fine.  But have you heard about this thing called “payback?”  heh heh heh

Me: Payback?

Body: Yes!  Go ahead, do something like dance for four and a half hours of practice and classes, and then drive a standard truck for another 2 hours commuting and then haul groceries up stairs and stretch and lift, go ahead and just try it boyo!  ‘Cause if you do, I’m going to make you SLEEP! I’m gonna make you REST!  But not until I make you ache and your muscles burn.  I’ve got friends ya know…  My buddies, who you know as the arches in your feet, are a nice set of twins who will make you regret all that dancing!

Me:  Do your worst…Ssssnnnnnnzzzzzzzzzz

*SIGH*

All kidding aside, it is horrible how much “recovery” time my body demands at this stage of the game.  And it is horrible how
