In search of the perfect night’s sleep…

Perfect?  Did I say “perfect”?  I’d settle for “Mostly OK”

Iz nots sleepinzzz...! I iz "vizualizin' mai dance routeens" ©One of the items on my “10-Point-Plan” to “Transform Tony in 2013” is #1 Get plenty of sleep every night.

Easier said than done!   However, talking about sleep is a good way to emphasis and reinforce the ongoing theme that Getting Fit and Healthy is complex because “EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING!

Sleep is important and most definitely connected to everything else in your life.  Without consistent restful sleep, getting fit and healthy is almost impossible.

brunostWithout meaning to whine and moan, or act like a pampered diva….  But, since we’re mentioning “diva”  could I please have some cheese with my Whine?  Hmmm?

Oh, did you hear about that cheese truck fire that took days to put out?  I kid you not!!!!

Holy Cheesus!  Who knew?

Anyway in Norway where this cheese is made there was a truck accident in a tunnel and the load of cheese, called Brunost caught fire and burned for days.

But…  I digress…  Back to the whole sleep thing…. Read the rest of this entry

Renewed Progress…

Just the Stats, M’am, just the stats…

ai haz a happee! ©I renewed my fitness efforts just after Thanksgiving and have continued on track since then.  Here are the results so far:

  • 7.25 lbs lost
  • 5.25 inches lost (chest/hips/waist)

That has been with me doing only two things: (1) being more aware of the foods I eat and making better choices (not perfect, but better) and (2) increasing the amount of exercise that I’ve been doing.  Mostly increased dancing as I got ready for Christmas in Dixie and for the World Championships.

Not too shabby a start for 2013!  This is my year!

I just hope that I get over this flu bug enough so that I can to to my first day of Ballet Class on Saturday.

See ya on the dance floor!

Quickie post–I’m moving forward again! Woot!

Cats, Capitalists, and Transformations…

Capitalism and Transformations

Cat - Cash Kitty - 20 Dollar Bill (CC)

I have to confess that I’m beginning to feel like a budding capitalist.  Oops!  I’m in business!  🙂

Also, I also have to confess that I’m feeling a little bit guilty about the preponderance of “Gee look at what I’m doing online” kind of posts which have appeared on my blog as of late.

But before all six of you who are reading this go all “99% on my not so skinny butt” let me connect the dots as to why me doing what I’m doing hooks up with me doing what I was doing.”  Still with me?  I hope so! LOL

This whole blog is a record of what is going on in my life as I try and move from

“out of shape, unemployed librarian” to “fit healthy in-shape full time writer and dance instructor”

At first the mission wasn’t so concrete and it certainly didn’t have the “unemployed” bit!  At first, I had a job, I had a blog, I had a very large body and I was VERY Stressed out and UNHAPPY

ai haz a happee! ©Well, now for the first time in ages, I’m happy; I’m not stressed, well not much anyway.   I still have the blog and the large body, but the 9-5 job is gone and my new job is transforming that body into something that I’m proud to call “my body.” However, to do that, well it takes money. *Siiiiiiiiigggggggggghhhhh*

I literally did just sigh as I typed this.  I kid you not!  I did!  I really did just sigh.  Now I’m smiling at myself for being silly and sharing that tidbit with you but hey, this is me we’re talking about.  LOL  And we all know I’m a little bit silly.  Ok, sometimes, I’m a lot silly

But I digress…  (yes, I do that a lot, but that’s how my brain is wired)

SQUIRREL  (if you don’t get the “joke” click on the link and all will become clear)

Oh, back to the post…

TMI Tidbit #2: What happens in the bathroom, Stays in the bathroom. Usually.

Cat Hiding Face (CC)

I can’t bear to watch!

Everybody does it.

Everybody knows that everybody does it.

It’s part of being human.

We don’t talk about it though.

At least, not in polite company.

But when we are with our friends and there is beer involved, then, the truth comes out….

…we all dance in the bathroom!

If you just got this mental image of ball gowns, feather boas, rhinestones and bugle beads, that would be bathroom of the drag queen who lives across the courtyard from me.  She is a special case, as is her bathroom.   Nope–I’m talking about the rest us, with garden variety “basic” “average” bathrooms.  Although I must confess that my bathroom not quite “basic” nor  “average” as it is tastefully decorated with a lovely “cats and  books” theme done in browns, reds and rich wood tones.

Ahem.  But I digress.  😉

Back to dancing in the bathroom.
