TMI Tidbit #2: What happens in the bathroom, Stays in the bathroom. Usually.
Everybody does it.
Everybody knows that everybody does it.
It’s part of being human.
We don’t talk about it though.
At least, not in polite company.
But when we are with our friends and there is beer involved, then, the truth comes out….
…
…we all dance in the bathroom!
If you just got this mental image of ball gowns, feather boas, rhinestones and bugle beads, that would be bathroom of the drag queen who lives across the courtyard from me. She is a special case, as is her bathroom. Nope–I’m talking about the rest us, with garden variety “basic” “average” bathrooms. Although I must confess that my bathroom not quite “basic” nor “average” as it is tastefully decorated with a lovely “cats and books” theme done in browns, reds and rich wood tones.
Ahem. But I digress. 😉
Back to dancing in the bathroom.
I hadn’t planned on spending my vacation working…
…but that is exactly what has happened for the past three and a half days. I’ve been learning CSS and refreshing my rusty HTML skills, setting up my new CafePress Store:
Check out the cool logo to the right…
I did good! I likes it! I likes it!
And I did it all by myself!
(patting my self on the back)
I’ve been toying with the idea of opening an online shop selling t-shirts, mugs, buttons, etc., for ages. But I’ve never gotten around to doing it. I’ve got literally hundreds of quotes, quips, and design ideas jotted down on paper.
Most of the designs are dance related. Surprise! LOL!
Oh, and the other designs are LOL related. As in LOL Cats. You may have noticed that I’ve created a few LOL Cats for my blog, using them to illustrate whatever the topic at hand may be. I’m putting the best of those into the store first, since they represent already created artwork.
“World Championships” mean it’s time to plan for the coming Competition Year
“
Heat # 55, bringing to the floor in Male Newcomer Pro-Ams, number 442 dancing with his pro….”
“Now for the dance of love… Polka!”
“Remember gentlemen, you’re supposed to gaze lovingly at her during the night club”
“Let’s hear it for our dancers” *applause*
“And in first place, our new World Champion in Male Newcomer Open…”
Ah, the sounds of competition at the UCWDC Country Dance World Championships, “Worlds” for short. The World Championships are held the first week of January each year and there are dancers from all over the world competing. This year it is in Orlando Florida. The dancers at the event have been working all year long toward this final event of the year, the culmination of 12 months of effort.
Just so you know, Worlds XX is actually going on right now; right this very minute in fact. I’m watching the Female Starter B and Female Newcomer Pro-Am competition right now as I type this, streaming live from GlobalDance.TV. They are just finishing Night Club and then they’ll do Cha-Cha, followed by the Waltz heats.
Driveshaft Drama: “Getting Healthy Requires a Budget”
Something is clunking in my truck. CLANKing even. *SIGH* This is not a good thing.
The health of my truck affects everything, even my health! I have to have a vehicle to drive the 44 mile round trip to and from work or else I don’t have a job! If I don’t have a job, I’m on the streets.
And let me tell ya, those street people don’t look too healthy! And we won’t even THINK about what all this will do to my budget and how it will affect my ability to dance and compete! Eeeeeeeeekkkk Urrrrrrkkkk Ugh!
So, sit back, or lean forward, your choice, and enjoy my tale of woe and angst while I use the process of telling you about my tale of woe and angst as a way to get my thoughts in order and come to a decision about “OMG What am I going to do??????!!!!!!”
But I digress… 😉 Back to the clunking and clanking…
Saturday, yesterday, at lunch I went out to my truck, got in, turned the key and *CLICK*. Nada, nothing, not a chirp, not a peek. Not a single erg of power. Not good.
