Weekly Line Dance Top Ten Lists Updated
There Are a Lot of Line Dance Lists!
There are lots of places on the Web that track the “Top Ten” line dances on a weekly or monthly basis.
And every single one of the darn tootin’ thangs seem to have a different way of calculating just which dances are the top ten.
*sigh*
It’s enough to make one’s inner domestic diva want to take off her tiara and eat bon bons!
Never fear, dearest readers, all twelve of you who actually read this blog… I, the awesome, the fantastic, the studly, being the kind, generous, friendly, charming person that I am have set out to make sense out of that muddle of mish-mashy information and simply for you. Can I have an amen?!
Ok, so, what I’ve done, is create two articles on Squidoo:
TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Summary of Top Ten Line Dance Lists
What you’ll find on this page is a summary of all the Top Ten Lists that of which I keep track. You’ll find a simple straight forward listing of the “Top Ten” dances from each list along with a link to the full list for that website. Here is the blurb from the beginning of the the Review:
Welcome to TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Report of the Top Line Dances from ranking sites around the world.
Keeping track of all those line dances is a lot like Herding Cats which is why I created this summary page to make life a bit easier! (And why there is a photo of a cute Cowboy KItty. 🙂
Those wanting more information can follow the links to visit a “Detailed Report” for each site containing the “Top Ten” dances, links to the stepsheets, demo & walk-through videos, and the music for each dance. [read the full review…]
TxCowboyDancer’s Weekly Review of
The Hottest, Most Popular Line Dances in the World

I monitor several line dance survey lists from different websites:
1. World Line Dance Newsletter
2. LineDancer Magazine
3. CopperKnob Line Dance Archive
4. Kickit Line Dance ArchiveThe following dances are ones which appear in the “Top Ten” lists on at least two of the four websites listed above, making them the most popular line dances on the planet!
HOTTEST — On all Four List
HOTTER — On Three of the Four Lists
HOT — On Two of the Four Lists
[Check out the dances listed in the article...]
So, there you have it, I hope you enjoy my two summary lists.
See ya on the Dance Floor!

I’ve been BUZZZEEE!
I’ve crossed a lot off my “To Do” list…
Because I don’t want to spend a lot of time and because the clock is staring at me and because I’ve got to get up tomorrow at 8am whether or not I’m rested and because I’ve got a LONG day ahead of me tomorrow, I’m going to make this quick.
Well, “quick” as in “quick for Tony”
Anyway… first a confession. Over the past two years as my life has slid into the crapper, my humble abode which consists of a small room, a bathroom, a portion of the kitchen and a corner of the dining room have become well, uhmmm… Icky.
Dusty. Dirty. Cluttered. Messy even. I’ve not had friends over to visit because I’m sure they’d shriek “INTERVENTION” and call the booking agent for that show about horders.
Here is a pic of my room, all tidy and neat. — at least one side of it anyway…. 🙂 And don’t try to zoom in, there is dust but I kept the resolution down low so ya can’t see it… so there! Thhhhhppppttttttt!
Anyway, I’ve realized though that something which got messed up over the course of MANY months can’t be fixed in a day or even a week. It is going to take a little each day to get everthing ship shape, dusted, cleaned, organized and toss a lot of stuff I don’t need and don’t use out the door…
Hmmmm… that applies to me and my body as well doesn’t it?!
Wow….deep thoughts late at night. Oh my!
Ok, Off the top of my head here are the things that I’ve accomplished over the past week (in no particular order)
- Installed new blinds in the window of my room — the old ones were grody
- Listed a bunch of stuff for sale on ebay and Amazon, holding kind of an “online garage sale” If you want to take a peek here are some links.
(please check it out… Please buy!!! I need the cash [insert desperate look])

.. - — I posted some links to some cool DANCE designs I found on Zazzle. I’ll add more as time permits
.. - — I listed my TV and TV stand on Craigslist. (If you’re in the DFW area or know someone in the DFW area and need a TV or TV stand check it out)

Using Line Dancing as Exercise
Dancing may be fun but it isn’t always exercise…
I have had this article idea for a while now which I planned to do here on my blog. The idea was to talk about how dancing, while fun, isn’t always exercise.
When you “exercise” you basically have to get your heart and lungs and muscles exerting enough effort so that the body is “stressed.” We’re talking “good stress” here. Because when the body is stressed, in a good way, the body responds by becoming stronger.
And that is how you get healthier! Tah-Da!
Unfortunately, when you are in the studio practicing different dance techniques, your body is not always being stressed. You end up doing the same movement over and over again which can increase flexibility, agility, and muscle control, but it is NOT stressing the cardiovascular system.
>>> SIGH <<<
So, this idea for an article has been dancing around in my head for a while (pardon the pun). I was going to go on for a bit with my usual drama. *GASP* Do I hear my dearest readers crying out “Tony? Engage in Dra–MA?! Him?”
Oh shush! You guys be quite! 🙂
Anyway, before the inner audience in my head so rudely interrupted me …
Hmmm… why do I feel like I’m in a Read the rest of this entry
I’ve got a Virus! Hmm Viral Post! LOL

Dance Floor Etiquette
Yes Virginia, there are rules…
Since dancing is a social activity, there are rules of conduct, norms of social behavior which keep us from punching out the lights of someone who may otherwise justly deserve it. 🙂
I’ve written a new article over on Squidoo about these “Rules of Etiquette” for the Dance Floor.
The photo on the right is the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom in Blackpool England. It is host each year to a wide array of events including weekly social ballroom dancing and annual world-class dance competitions.
See ya on the dance floor!
